Position Title
Assistant Professor of Radiology

Bio

Mike studied Biomedical Engineering at Boston University, and received his Ph.D. in clinical neurosciences from the University of Oxford working in the lab of Daniel Bulte. He completed his postdoctoral training in MRI methods development at Cardiff University Brain Research Imaging Centre (CUBRIC), where he developed novel methods for mapping brain physiology and cerebral oxygen metabolism. Mike joined the faculty at UC Davis in 2024, where he continues to develop and apply MRI methods to understand the physiological and metabolic underpinnings of brain health and disease.

Mike's research develops methods that could be used to map and quantify the metabolic and physiological impact of psychedelics and neurotherapeutics on the brain. Such research could help inform on the mechanism of action within the brain.
